Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is a communication interface which allows musical instruments to communicate performance data or control data between each other or a host computer. MIDI is defined not only by the communication protocol but also by the hardware.
MIDI itself is a relatively simple serial communication standard, but it can be daunting because there's a lot of terminology. There are many resources on the internet that do a great job of explaining the details of MIDI, and if you need those details, we encourage you to seek out that information. However, we will touch on the main components that will help MCP users know what to look for in owner’s manuals of MIDI equipment so that they know what information is needed to program the MCP.
In the early days of MIDI, it was mostly used for synthesizers, or keyboards (controllers), to communicate note on/off information to outboard (or separate) sound modules. Very quickly, companies began to use MIDI to change patches, or sound settings. Loads of information can be transmitted over MIDI to communicate performance nuances to make the equipment respond in a more human nature. Today, the MIDI protocol has even been extended to related devices, such as stage lighting and recording studio equipment.

The MIDI Controller Pro (MCP) is a programmable foot controller that sends MIDI messages to your gear, allowing you to switch between presets, effects, and configurations instantly — all from a single stomp.
-
The MCP is compatible with any device that accepts standard 5-pin MIDI. That includes pedals, amp modelers, rack units, synths, and more.
-
Each of the 6 onboard foot switches can send up to 12 MIDI messages, and with 2 optional auxiliary switches, you can control up to 96 total messages.
-
You’ll use our free MCP Control Software (included with purchase) to program your footswitches, assign MIDI messages, adjust LED behaviors, and even fine-tune your expression pedal response curve.
-
Absolutely. The expression pedal and auxiliary switches are optional — the core unit functions fully on its own.

We offer a 30-day return window. If you're not satisfied, return the MCP in its original condition for a refund.
