Who We Are
Modal Logic was born from a simple idea: musicians should be in total control of their sound— without the clutter, guesswork, or limitations. Founded by a small team of engineers and gear fanatics, we're dedicated to designing tools that simplify complex setups while delivering professional-grade power and precision.
Our Mission…
We build next-generation gear that keeps up with today’s musicians—tools that are rugged, intelligent, and intuitive. Whether you’re playing sold-out stages or dialing in your home studio, our mission is to give you gear that gets out of the way and lets your creativity take over.
The Flagship: MIDI Controller Pro
Our debut product, the MIDI Controller Pro (MCP), is a MIDI foot controller designed to access all the functions and features of your MIDI gear. Built for real players in real environments, the MCP combines powerful MIDI routing, app-based customization, and a durable, performance-ready chassis that’s ready for the road. It’s built to replace frustration with freedom because your gear should follow your lead, not fight it.
First in the Signal Chain
Modal Logic Pro is just getting started. Our vision is to continue developing innovative solutions for musicians who want more control, better workflow, and smarter gear.
We’re not here to flood the market—we’re here to build only what matters.
The Mind Behind
James Wilson isn’t your average gear designer. For most of his professional career, he engineered satellites—precision machines orbiting the Earth. But his passion has always been to design and produce electronics for the music industry. A lifelong guitarist who’s played in multiple bands, James constantly was looking to simplify his rig but not lose the ability to exploit all that his rig could do.
So he did what any satellite engineer with a Les Paul would do—he built a solution.
Using his deep knowledge of systems engineering, music electronics and embedded controllers, James created what would become the MIDI Controller Pro (MCP)—a foot-actuated controller designed to make changing sounds fast, logical, and totally customizable. Where other products fell short in some areas, the MCP delivered in all areas: a small pedal board footprint, a flexible configuration, all while offering a suite of feature-packed capabilities.
James didn’t set out to build the best controller in the world—he just wanted something more and worked the way musicians actually think.
Turns out, that’s exactly what the world needed.
